The Perth Assay Laboratory
is Kalassay's most specialised laboratory and the centre for our technical development work.
Major investment in cutting-edge technologies has equipped this
laboratory to cater for mining and exploration companies pursuing
Iron Ore, Gold, Nickel, Uranium, Silver, Tantalum, Mineral Sands
and Rare Earths.
Analysis at the ppm, ppb and even ppt levels can now be done
efficiently and promptly by using Kalassay's ICP-MS and ICP-OES
instruments.
The Perth Assay Laboratory is equipped with Three ICP-MS instruments
and two ICP-OES instruments.
Our ICP section is managed Dr Zongshou Yu, who has a wealth of
experience in this type of instrumental analysis, having been
involved in commercial and research laboratories in Australia
for a number of years..

The Perth Assay Laboratory
has a highly-skilled and very experienced analytical
staff
Kevin
is a highly-capable, highly-experienced analyst and has been intimately involved with the development, operation and management
of analytical laboratories over a period of twenty
years.
He has extensive experience in Gold, Nickel and Base Metals at low-level to high-grade concentrations.
During this time, he
has performed just about every role within the analytical
industry and Kevin applies his experience to running
a very complex and busy workplace.
Glynn
joined Kalassay with extensive experience in laboratory
management.
Glynn was previously
the Laboratory Manager of ALS Chemex in Kalgoorlie
for 10 years. This role encompassed the analysis of
gold for both grade control and exploration and helped
commission their metallurgical facility in 1997. Prior
to this, Glynn was employed by Analabs (now SGS) in
Kalgoorlie for over 10 years, holding a number of
senior positions.
Glynn's recruitment
to Kalassay has added to the depth of management resources
at the Kalgoorlie Assay Laboratory and has significantly
increased the laboratory's capacity to meet client
requirements.
His main forté
is in the realm of Gold and Base Metals amnalysis and laboratory logistical
management.
In addition to long-term positions in Perth and Kalgoorlie, he has operated laboratories in Nullagine, Mount
Magnet and Tennant Creek.
Glynn is an Associate of the Royal Australian Chemical
Institute and Member of the Association of Exploration
Geochemists.
Glynn is a qualified Soccer
Referee and an active member of that "other"
footballing community.
Zongshou, our ICP specialist,
has gained wide-ranging experience in the geological
and analytical fields in China and Australia, both on
a professional and academic level since 1979.
Zongshou’s
PhD project at University of Tasmania involved development
and application of ICP mass spectrometric techniques
for measuring trace elements and isotope ratios in geological
materials.
He has published 9 peer-reviewed papers
in the field of analytical chemistry. Publications
List.
He trained over 30 ICP-MS operation chemists in Australia
and the Asia Pacific region between 2002 and 2003 when
he worked with Murdoch University.
Zong was employed by Genalysis Laboratory
Services from 2003 as Technical Chemist and NATA signatory
prior to joining the Kalassay Group Management Team
in March 2005.
