Kalassay Group Standards - SARM 7B Standard

SARM 7B is a Certified Reference Material (CRM) manufactured from South African samples taken fron the Marensky Reef area in the Bushveld Complex in the Transvaal, South Africa.

This CRM was first produced and certified in 1974 and revised in 2002 by Mintek in South Africa.

The material consists mainly of a felspathic pyroxenite.
Major constituents are Pyroxene, Olivine, Serpentinite, and Plagioclase.
Minor consitiuents are Chromite, Pentlandite, Chalcopyrite, and Pyrrhotite.
The platinum minerals are mainly Ferroplatinum, Cooperite, Sperrylite, Braggite and Moncheite.
Silica and Magnesia account for about 70% of the sample and oxides of Iron Aluminium and Calcium a further 24%
